Ferry to Canary Islands

Ready to Board Ferry to Canary Islands

Heading to Canary Islands today on the Fred Olsen Express Ferry Boat Service. There are 7 islands that make up the Canary Islands. And believe it or not, has a population of 2.2 million people. Hard to imagine as it’s a tiny blip on the world map. I’m going specifically to Las Palmas.

I arrived at the Puerto de Huelva Ferry Port 3 hours early by choice. Can’t afford to miss this ferry, plus no time to venture anywhere else. This is what I pictured, no fancy waiting area, just bathrooms and two vending machines. Seems more like a shipping port that’s not for people. But I found my way. Most of the passengers here are going by car. Only 5 of us are going on foot.

Thankfully the taxi driver made it easier by helping me find the exact drop off point. A little confusing at first, but we figured it out. I joked afterward that now he knows where to drop anyone he brings here in the future. In Spanish, of course, a bit broken, but he got the point.
