Today my partner and I had breakfast at a local coffee shop here in Staten Island. When the skimpy avocado toast I ordered came out burnt I was disappointed. I decided it’s time to go to Spain.
The avocado toast was a catalyst.
If you’re generally content and then something like avocado toast turns out disappointing, generally you don’t care. Well, I don’t anyway. There are more pressing things to worry about in the world. But if you’re itching to travel like I already am, and you get skimpy burnt avocado toast, then it’s a trigger.
The skimpy burnt avocado toast wasn’t worth the price I paid. But it was more than that.
There really is such a thing as a travel bug, or a travel itch… a desire to keep moving and keep exploring with a never-ending curiosity about the rest of the world.
That’s how people like me think. And I know many people like me. We are in a constant state of wonder about the world. Not just to read about it, but to see it for ourselves. And one way or another we figure out how to get there. We don’t just think about doing it. We do it.
So when will you leave? I don’t know.
What city will you go to? I don’t know.
How long will you stay? I don’t know.
Are you sure you are going? Yes.
Ok, I will probably go in April. But it sounded better to say “I don’t know” up there.😏
So that’s that.
Mentally I am already there.🌍
Thank goodness for that burnt avocado toast! I know what you mean about triggers and getting the itch to travel. I am one of those that you know who are like you. I have the itch to travel somewhere NOW! You’ve given me a good idea, and traveling to Spain again is on my bucket list. I was there in 1975. I’ve been to eight countries in Europe, and once to the holy land, Israel. my husband and I were going to visit Israel again this year but you know what happened there. Well enjoy your travels, be safe, and I’d love to see photos of your adventures!
Spain sounds wonderful. I’m excited for you! I’m sure you’ll have lots of good stories and fabulous pictures!
Yes, that is you!! I don’t travel much, so I love traveling through you and your adventures!! And your pictures!
Nice perspective
Travel bug never fades
Enjoy Spain
Chile is on our bucket list, hoping within the next three years!
Enjoy and safe travels!
Awesome! When you are inspired and know where you want to go there’s no other plan but to follow that dream. Spain is the ideal place to go after being in Chili to practice your Spanish. I love your pictures and your updated blog.
Awesome! Traveling Spain is a great followup after spending time in Chile to practice your Spanish. Your pictures are great to look at. I love how you have updated your blog and tell of your experiences in each of the countries. 💕🙏
