What Digital Nomads Travel With

Rather what this digital nomad travels with. Since I already travelled for work as a financial consultant for the Girl Scouts in 2007 and several small jobs after, I’d already fine-tuned this process. But in 2024, this is what I take. I brought 28 pieces here. And I’ve taken most of these to the last five countries I’ve been to.

17 are essential. 11 are not as essential, back-ups, spares…

Nearly all are super small and lightweight. All of this can fit in my small drawstring bag and carried on my back:

  1. One laptop.
  2. Laptop charger
  3. Another laptop.
  4. Laptop charger
  5. Fireproof pouch (also holds my passport; but I have a scanned copy on my phones)
  6. Wireless mouse. Somewhat essential to me.
  7. One phone (mostly for personal use, whatsapp, travel apps)
  8. Another phone (email/business apps, QBO [Quickbooks Online] & travel apps)
  9. Another phone (for streaming news and movies/TV shows). This one is a comfy item; not essential.
  10. Anker portable charger and cord. I’ve had this one 10 years. They make them much smaller now with same amount of recharge power. But will keep using this until it no longer works.
  11. External drive. Make backups every few days onto this.
  12. Phone charger. These are lightweight so I’d rather take extras; plus I can charge more than one phone at a time.
  13. Backup phone charger.
  14. Another backup phone charger.
  15. Mini headset. Only need one at a time, but rather have spares in case I lose one. Lightweight. I have since lost this.🤨
  16. Backup mini headset.
  17. Another backup mini headset.
  18. One pink headset case. I have lost this too.🤨
  19. One universal adapter with USB ports. I have lost this too.🤨
  20. One white/simple universal adapter
  21. One USB extender hub
  22. A back up USB extender hub
  23. Mini thumb drive. Used as a backup, or when I don’t want to hook up the larger external drive.
  24. Another mini thumb drive. A back up for the back up.
  25. Mini USB fan. Essential to me. 😊
  26. Mini USB/Type-C adapters.
  27. Replaceable foam buds for headsets. Somewhat essential.
  28. Wristwatch. I am a wristwatch wearer. Yes, we can see the time on our phones. But more convenient to look at wrist rather than taking phone out of bag or pocket.

As I noted above, I have lost a few pieces, but will summarize what happened in a “Trip Fails” post after this travel to Europe is done on August 30.
